[Frontier Ruckus —> Zelda Medley]
I was about to post this song by the same band, and I was going to say something boring, like how it fits a dark & rainy day almost as well as an autumn one, but then I found the video above. And it’s amazing.
I don’t know what I expected when I found out that s/s/s = Serengeti/Sufjan Stevents/Son Lux. This is ridiculous in the best way possible.

This whole concept is extremely intriguing…
Also, I’ve been listening to a lot of post-rock [Do Make Say Think, Explosions in the Sky, etc.], but that seems less interesting at the moment. I’ve been trying to get the details down for making one of these…
[Beach House —> Other People]
I’ve been really hesitant to like this band, mostly due to the greatly amassing hype they’ve received over the past few years, but I’ve just recently gotten around to listening to their new album, Bloom, and it’s really quite awesome. This is one of the tracks that stood out to me. Hope you like it!
[YACHT —> Utopia (& Dystopia)]
Hello, my friends! It has been quite a long time, a long time indeed. Now that it is summer, the time for my music blogging has come once again! To start it all off, I want to play this song [actually, two songs, as it turns out] from an amazing band that I got officially turned onto this past semester. Enjoy!
P.S. Go play outside! I’ll be riding this around quite a bit tomorrow:

When this album comes out, pick it up. I got an advance download of it from Mr. Graveface himself and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s like a combination of John Darnielle’s sadder songs and Arcade Fire’s amazing production work mixed with The Stanley Brothers’s twang.

This is a stencil I made recently, in honor of William Schaff, the great artist who has done album artwork for many musicians: Okkervil River, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Songs: Ohia, Kid Dakota, and D R E A M E N D, among others. Graveface Records is doing a kickstarter to fund a big book full of Schaff’s artwork, accompanied by a 10” of music by Jason Molina. Check it out! As for myself, I’ve been listening to a lot of this music of late, enjoying my time off of school, stenciling shirts and playing many a game. Perhaps you’re doing the same!

[Sufjan Stevens —> O Holy Night]
I decree: There is close to no better way to get into the X-mas spirit than by listening to this song! And I won’t stop at that! I highly recommend the entire Songs for Christmas 5-cd “album” (or box set, with wonderful bonus items, as I have come to find). This song is so majestic! Its wonderful power juxtaposed to its whimsicality make me weak in the knees, smiling all the way, eager for the first real snow. Listen, all!
